Baldwin Spencer, Antigua & Barbuda Prime Minister, expressed disappointment commenting on the U.S.’s appeal over the World Trade Organization ruling which confirmed as unfair the ban that prohibits Americans to bet online.

“To this island of under 70,000 people, with an economy in bad shape, the US actions in the Internet gaming issue appear to go to a level of shock and awe that a friendly, small nation has done nothing to deserve,” he said.

“I look to the U.S. Congressional Group for a swift intervention for the withdrawal of the United States challenge to the WTO ruling that the US denial of Antigua and Barbuda access to American entities in carrying out activities in our Internet gaming industry is in violation of WTO protocols.”

“If that is not to happen, I petition the Congressional Group to intervene by assisting us to source and fund legal resources of the calibre required to carry Antigua and Barbuda’s case forward.”
