The betting firm, which is based on the Isle of Man and is part of the Betinternet group, used to pay commissions on the pari-mutuel bets made by U.S. clients through the International Players Association, part-owners of Lakes Region Greyhound Park.
A report by the Attorney General, which calls the state Pari-Mutuel Commission to revoke Lakes Region Greyhound Park license, alleges that “IPA conducted an illegal gambling business at the track using track employees, track telephones and perhaps the track may have provided the initial capital so IPA could begin conducting business.”
“IPA\’s purpose was to refer U.S. gamblers to Euro Off-Track. IPA would receive money from its customers and then forward that money to Euro Off-Track in order to fund the customers\’ accounts.”
“IPA also forwarded money, that received from Euro Off-Track, to its customers by mail and by wire transfers,” violating a federal law outlawing the interstate or foreign wire transmission of bets or wagers.
