AIM’s largest company reported a 31.1% increase in turnover to £390.5m for the three months ended April 30, while gross margin was up 137.5% to £57.0m and profit before tax showed an increase of 226% to £13.7m.
Paradise Poker contributed £9.1m to a total operating profit of £20.2m (up 242.4%).
Registered customers grew 11% to over 2.5m, while the number of sports bets placed rose 52% to 107m and the number of poker games rose 42% to more than 100m.
The company confirmed plans to pay a maiden dividend for the year to July 31.
Chairman Peter Dicks said the organic growth of the sports betting and gaming businesses has been strong and the poker business has continued to perform ahead of expectations.
Before the US season starts, Sportingbet is planning to introduce a transferable \’online purse\’, allowing customers to move cash easily between its range of products.
