Tabcorp 11th-hour bid

Tabcorp has referred to the state Government an offer to abolish the annual A$5.3million “settlement fee” it charges TOTE Tasmania for access to the mainland SuperTAB racing pools.

In return, the Tasmanian Government would agree not to license Betfair or any other betting exchange.

The settlement fee, which TOTE Tasmania has been paying Tabcorp for seven years, represents 17 per cent of TOTE\’s operating costs and it was a key factor behind willingness to flirt with Betfair.
