ACENCAS, an association which studies problem gambling, presented a complaint to the authorities to stop internet betting sites from operating in Spain as well as advertising on Spanish media.
The Catalan association accused BetandWin and Miapuesta, which are based in the offshore centres of Gibraltar and Barbados, to not offer guarantees to punters in Spain\’s courts should a claim arise.
The complaint added that such online companies do not pay taxes in Spain nor they are subject to any Spanish fiscal control.
