As reported by the Daily Mail, the online gaming group knew about the lawsuit filed by Houston-based Rotoplay since June 9, but decided against informing its shareholders in contravention of UK Listing Authority rules.
The newspaper revealed the two firms discussed a licensing deal, but talks ended in May 2002. The \’copied\’ lottery games allegedly appeared on Sportingbet\’s sites in late 2002.
Rotoplay is now claiming damages and compensation to be calculated on how much Sportingbet has made from customers attracted to its site by the games.
