The company confirmed with a statement to the London Stock Exchange that it is in advanced discussions regarding settlement of the outstanding litigation claim with PartyGaming and assignment of the company\’s related skin activities to PartyGaming.
According to rumours, Empire, which claimed breach of contract after PartyGaming ringfenced its own poker players from those of \’skin companies\’, received an offer of $200 million.
Industry analysts suggested that in the context of PartyGaming\’s market capitalization, the settlement would be relatively small, so the online poker giant may just want to put the legal dispute behind and move on.
