The interactive betting arm of broadcaster BSkyB increased net win by 17% up to £27m for the nine months ended 31 March 2006. This comprised a 28% increase in gross revenues to £239m, driven by the strong growth in Sky Vegas revenues, and a 30% increase in betting payouts to £212m.

Elsewhere, WPTonline.com, the online division of WPT Enterprises, the creator of the World Poker Tour television show, generated revenues of $0.9 million in the first quarter of 2006 compared to $0.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2005.

WPTE expects to continue to maintain the current level of sales and marketing expenses related to its website until it transitions to an improved technology platform. WPTonline.com is currently powered by WagerWorks, whose other clients include Blue Square, Paddy Power and Sky Vegas. The website does not permit bets to be made from players in the US and other restricted jurisdictions.
