“You can bet legally on horse races, greyhound races and buffalo fights in Vietnam. Meanwhile, betting on such a popular game like football is still prohibited,” said Deputy Nguyen Huu Nhon.
Tao Huu Phung, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Economic and Budget Committee, shares Nhon’s view but said it is necessary to draft a regulation and create the legal basis to develop a project on organized soccer betting.
