John Anderson announced yesterday that he will step down as CEO of 888 at the end of the year, but denied his departure was linked to the US events. Anderson will stay on the board as a non-executive director. “If I was concerned about the US, I would not stay on the board,” he said.

Although 888 has no involvement in sportsbetting, the online casino and poker operator said in yesterday\’s statement that it was closely monitoring the progress of the recent enforcement actions in the US and that no one in the company has plans to travel to the US at present.

Elsewhere, NETeller appointed David Gagie as President of Financial Services. The online payments provider looks to move into the mainstream banking market as part of a diversified market strategy.
