The online betting group said to be in the process of concluding a legal and strategic review with regard to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. As part of this review the Board of Sportingbet is considering a number of approaches that it has received for the group\’s US facing business.
The company said to be of the opinion that any sale of the US facing business must be completed prior to the Act becoming law, but that based on the approaches received to date, it is unlikely that any such sale will realize significant cash consideration.
In separate news, Sportingbet has been awarded the top \’Non-European Sportsbook of the Year\’ at the 2006 eGaming Awards for its Sportsbook.com brand and associated sites.
