In 1997, the Swedish state adopted a law which banned the wheel of fortune games and now Betsson, which suffered great loss as a consequence of it, has decided to ask for compensation damages to the Stockholm’s District Court.

“The enforcement of the law hit us hard. We have tried to get compensation from the Chancellor of Justice in Sweden, but through legal fiddling we have been denied the compensation. We presume we can hold the state responsible for illegal actions and get compensation for the damage the law has caused us. The law must be applicable even to the state. What is important to us is in the end is that justice must prevail,” said Pontus Lindwall, Betsson\’s CEO.
