William Hill announces profits in line with the market consensus of £292m

The board of the UK bookmaker also said it was confident about the prospects for the group in 2007. William Hill is optimistic to see further progress internationally, with the new Italian licenses awarded to the joint venture with Codere and the application for a sports betting license in Spain in the region of Madrid.
