Bookmakers review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Kovinic vs. Kvitova
The opening match on Philippe-Chatrier Court this Sunday counts with the two-time Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova, and Danka Kovinic.

Kovinic is a very decent clay courter with powerful groundstrokes and was she was very close from her first WTA career title a few weeks ago in Istanbul, losing only in the final against Cagla Buyukakcay. Danka is looking for her second career appearance on this event’s second round, after reaching that stage in 2015.

Even though clay is not Kvitova’s favourite surface, the Czech is still one of the best players in the world. Petra is known for her powerful tennis and in a good day, it’s almost impossible to stop her. Kvitova made a good preparation for this event and she’s looking for another successful journey in Paris, with her best result in 2012 when she reached the semi-finals.

There isn’t much Kovinic can do if Petra is playing at a good level and for that reason, the Czech is fairly priced as favourite for this contest at 11/50 on Bet365 while Kovinic is offered at 161/50 on Pinnacle Sports.

Pliskova vs. Rogers
A very interesting contest is expected between two great servers, Karolina Pliskova and Shelby Rogers.

Pliskova is known for her amazing serve and even though the slower game conditions on clay, her serve is still a huge weapon on this surface. It’s possible to see how important Karolina’s serve is by looking at her service numbers throughout her career. Pliskova has an average of 0.63 aces per service game on clay during her career while the WTA average on this surface is only 0.17.

However, the Czech struggles when returning to serve with just 29.1% of return games won while the average on WTA is 39.8%.

Rogers is a very decent clay courter with a strong serve and powerful groundstrokes and it won’t be easy for Pliskova to defeat her. They played earlier this year in Indian Wells where Karolina was playing close to her best level and she won by 6 – 2 6 – 4 but this time, things might be tougher for the Czech.
With this in mind, it’s possible to find some value on Rogers’ odds at 4/1 on BetVictor while Pliskova can be found at 21/100 on Marathonbet. Due to the tremendous quality on their serves, placing a bet on the Over is a good way to approach this contest.
