“BIG” Sam Allardyce finally got his first win as Crystal Palace manager under his belt in midweek after a 2-1 FA Cup success against his former club League One Bolton, but the bad news for Palace fans is that is where the winning run ends.
This weekend the Eagles host Everton at Selhurst Park and it\’s a case of normal service resuming in south-east London.
The home side have yet to win a Premier League match since the former England manager took over from Alan Pardew and with six home defeats in their last seven matches, they don\’t look capable of getting three points in this one, despite the layers offering just 3.00 on their chances.
Palace are a poor side, and the one thing that they\’ve got big problems with is keeping a clean sheet and with 40 goals conceded in the Premier League already this season, almost two goals per game, it\’s impossible to see how they won\’t concede at least once against a confident Everton side.
Last weekend Ronald Koeman produced his biggest win in his Everton career and probably in his managerial career with the 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City and with a big goal threat all over the pitch they will be far too strong for Palace and odds of 2.40 on the away win look very tempting.
Romelu Lukaku was unplayable against City and the Belgium international has now scored four goals in his last five matches and he\’s expected to have a field day against this leaky Palace back-line.
Everton matches always see goals with their last four games all featuring over 2.5 goals and with Palace more than capable of scoring them, but unable to keep them out, over 2.5 in this one at 2.10 with William Hills and both teams to score at the general 1.80 with most bookies look decent bets.
My official play in the match though is for an Everton win at the 2.40, but however, I do expect goals and the majority of them from the visitors and the Everton win and both teams to score at 5.00 is an attractive alternative.
