The action continues in Melbourne with the first matches of the fourth round taking place this Sunday. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Kerber vs. Vandeweghe

Angelique Kerber and Coco Vandeweghe will face each other with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

Kerber is looking for her third Grand Slam title after winning the Australian Open and the US Open last year. Despite experiencing some problems on her first two rounds, Angelique played at a much higher level in the 3rd round against Krystina Pliskova. The German was extremely pleased with her performance against Krystina, especially the way she started the match with a bagel in the opening set.

It has been a great week for Vandeweghe with the American looking for her second career appearance in the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam – the first one in Melbourne. After her victory over Eugenie Bouchard in the previous round, Coco already secured her career high ranking and is just now one step away from breaking into the top 25.

This should be an exciting match between two players with very opposite game styles. Even though Vandeweghe is always a dangerous opponent due to her tremendous firepower, Angie should be too solid at the end. Therefore, the German is the undeniable favourite for this encounter at 33/100 at Coral while Vandeweghe is available at 5/2 at William Hill. Due to the low price on Angie’s money line, we recommend you to take her -4 game handicap at 19/25 at Pinnacle.

Pavlyuchenkova vs. Kuznetsova

A very entertaining match is expected this Sunday between two players who know each other very well – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Kuznetsova reaches this stage of the competition after defeating Jelena Jankovic in one of the longest matches in the history of the tournament – 3 hours and 36 minutes. Despite not playing her best tennis, Svetlana was very happy with her fighting spirit and the way she emerged victorious from that encounter.

With one of her best performances in recent months, Pavlyuchenkova booked a place in the Australian Open 4th round for the first time in her career. Even though Elina Svitolina is never an easy opponent due to her outstanding defensive skills, Anastasia fired an impressive average of 1.84 winners per game.

As we mentioned before, both players know each other very well with few things separating them. The bookmakers think the same with Kuznetsova as the slight favourite with 5Dimes offering 19/25 for her victory while Pavlyuchenkova is available at 13/10 at William Hill. With this in mind, the Over 20.5 at 3/4 at Pinnacle is clearly the best betting approach for this contest.
