Germany v San Marino – WCQ Top Football Tips

Finding bets in this market is tough. Let’s face it, when you analyse a game between Germany and San Marino IN Germany, the chances are you aren’t going to spend a lot of time talking about San Marino and instead you’re focusing on the German side and asking yourself:

“How many goals can they score?”

It’s a fair question. San Marino have conceded 23 goals in this qualification round and scored only once, against Norway back in October last year. A goal that required two Norwegian defenders tackling each other and a third committing a schoolboy error.

Germany scored 8 goals the last time these two met and this game is expected to be another procession. So much so that Germany manager Joachim Löw has given a number of players a break and taken the chance to bring some youngsters in. Only four players in the 23 man squad are over the age of 25 and a number of players from “less fashionable” clubs are being given a chance.

In goal there is pretty much a straight choice between PSG keeper Kevin Trapp and Barcelona keeper Mrc-André ter Stegen. Bernd Leno stands a chance as well but he’s the least talented of the three in my opinion.

It will be very interesting to see who starts in defence, there is a lot of potential here with players like Niklas Süle and Antonio Rüdiger up and coming players that will take their chance at some point. Jonas Hector is the “old man” of this group at 27 years old but Shkodran Mustafi ahs plenty of experience and will probably play from the start.

The midfield has the most experienced international player in the squad with 23-year-old Julian Draxler captaining the side in his 30th appearance for Die Mannschaft. Emre Can and Julian Brandt should take 2 of the other slots, after that Sebastian Rudy looks like a probable as he looks to add to his 15 caps.

Up front, there are 3 options and all 3 are yet to break their duck at international level. This is the perfect game for them as there are few easier teams to score against in World football. I’m hoping Timo Werner gets some game time as he’s a player I have a lot of time for and he’s done well in his first season at RB Leipzig with 21 goals in 31 games.

It’s difficult to find value in this game. It might be worth going for something in the anytime goalscorer market in our green listed bookmakers where you can back Shkodran Mustafi at 3.6 with bet365, Ladbrokes, and with Stan James. My (much more sensible) bet is going to require a good start from the German side. I’m backing them to overcome a 3.5 goal handicap in the first half at 1.98 .

If you like goals, this will be the game for you and you will get the chance to see the next batch of German talent come through at the same timer.

Win-Win.
