Saturdays European World Cup Qualifiers kick off in two stages. The first early in the evening across Europe, the second just before the night really settles in.
There are a few matches here to catch the eye and a lot of strong favourites. These games can be tough to find a lot of value in but I’ve done my best for you.
The first match of the evening is Bosnia & Herzegovina against Belgium. Belgium have once again been strong in their qualifying section and they have a really good squad of players to choose from. The Tottenham centre-back pairing of Alderweireld and Vertonghen are often shunted out to fullback positions but they’ve been playing in a 3 at the back for Belgium recently and that suits them very well. With options in midfield and attack, this is a very good Belgium side and they will be determined to finish Group H on a high with no losses in qualification.
Bosnia too are a good side and will be wary of dropping points as Greece are hot on their heels.
I think this has value for the away side, they’re motivated to do well and the odds are excellent at 2.59 with Pinnacle. I don’t think they’ll concede many though so Both Teams To Score (No) is a real option at 2.3 with BetVictor.
The other early evening games are very difficult for me to get a read on so I’m avoiding those.
Then we have some matches where the favourites are heavily tipped to win.
Andorra faces (lest we forget) Euro 2016 winners Portugal and this could be a cricket score. Personally, I’m on Portugal -4.5 at 2.35 with Bet365 and I think this one’s a winner. Ronaldo will want to up his qualifying goal scoring tally and Andorra are perfect opponents to do just that.
The Netherlands travel away to Belarus and after seeing his club career revitalized at Fenerbahce, Victor Janssen is a good bet for anytime goalscorer at evens, once again with bet365.
France travels away to Bulgaria with questions hanging over them. How will they cope without Pogba and Dembele? Can Deschamps get enough out of his squad to overcome the loss of those two players. There are still plenty of good players left in the squad, not least Antoine Griezmann but I’m swerving this one as France could find this harder than expected.
My last bet of the day is in the Cyprus v Greece game. Greece knows they need to keep up the chase if they have any chance of getting that second place position. That means they must beat Cyprus and with Greece- 1 being priced at 2.02 with green listed bookmaker Bet365, this is enough to tempt me in.
