As we continue on in the North American swing of the tennis season, the US Open is about to be here.

The players are currently finishing up in Cincinnati in preparation for the year’s final Grand Slam event, the US Open. Before betting on it at top-rated sportsbooks, let’s take a look at the top players who have a great chance of success at the US Open this year.

Carlos Alcaraz

By the current ATP odds, Carlos Alcaraz is the favorite to win the US Open. This is rightfully so because Alcaraz is the winner of the last two Grand Slams. Although he fell short at the Olympics, as the grueling tennis season continues, the younger Alcaraz is in a great position to win his third Grand Slam title of the year.

This season, Carlos Alcaraz has won three titles and is 38-7 on the year. He is an impressive 13-2 on hard courts.

The US Open surface favors the style of Alcaraz. Alcaraz’s game is best for clay courts and the slow surface at the US Open will accentuate his strengths. The US Open is regarded as one of the slowest hard court surfaces that the players will experience.

Carlos Alcaraz has a great chance to win the US Open. He is worth placing a bet on now because as the tournament gets closer, the odds will become less lucrative.

Carlos Alcaraz is the rightful favorite to win the tournament this year.

Novak Djokovic

After failing to be successful in the last two Grand Slams, many people thought that Novak Djokovic was no longer at his top-caliber level. However, Djokovic’s win at the Olympics proves that he cannot be counted out.

Novak Djokovic is 29-7 this season and 8-3 on hard courts. He is currently ranked number two in the world.

Djokovic’s best surface is the hard court and his Olympic win shows that we cannot count him out just yet. When looking at the US Open, we must consider Djokovic a favorite, however, at the current price being offered I do not believe there is value in placing a bet on him right now.

Djokovic is currently +220 by the ATP odds and I would want a higher price for him to upset the talented youngster Alcaraz this late in the season.

Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is currently ranked number one in the ATP rankings. Sinner has won four titles this season and is 44-5 on the year, including an impressive 24-2 on the hard courts.

Jannik Sinner skipped the Olympics this season after falling short to Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon. Sinner is currently playing again, although he did lose at the Montreal tournament in the quarterfinals.

Sinner is not 100% yet, but with a couple of weeks to get ready for the tournament, there is a good chance that we will see the top level of play from Sinner we saw earlier this season that allowed him to take the number one ranking. However, just like Djokovic, I do not believe the odds are high enough for us to place this bet right now.

We will continue to monitor the market, and if we can get a better return on a wager on Jannik Sinner, we will then enter the market.

Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev is fourth in the US Open ATP odds and in the rankings, he is currently ranked 5th in the world.

This is the first season since 2017 that he has yet to win a tournament which he entered. He is 35-12 this year including 18-5 on hard courts. Medvedev has missed some time this season, which is why he’s played fewer matches than usual.

Daniil Medvedev won the US Open in 2021. Unfortunately for Medvedev, that Grand Slam championship total should be much higher. He has made six Grand Slam finals, yet he has lost in five of his six appearances. While this is tough to evaluate because he was playing against the “Big Three”, cumulatively a collection of the greatest players to ever take the court, Medvedev will have to raise his level of play if he is to lift another Grand Slam trophy.

However, at ATP odds of 8-1, this is the play I can get behind right now because of the lucrative payout.

When he is at his best, Daniil Medvedev can beat anybody and when you see a payout like this next to his name, you have to take advantage of it now. It will be for a smaller amount but we will also be placing a bet on Daniil Medvedev to win the US Open.
