AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025

January 30 – February 02, 2025

The iconic Pebble Beach has always provided one of the most intricate tests of skill on the PGA Tour. When the weather is inclement, it can be very challenging, turning the makeup of the course into a typical links test.

The Pebble Beach course is a short one by modern-day standards. With the smallest Poa Annua greens on the PGA Tour, it is an approach shot event. The other course used for one of the opening two rounds is Spyglass Hills, which shares very similar short yardage, except the final 13 holes have a parkland topography.

The weather is forecast to be reasonably good, currently with a little precipitation on Friday and Saturday.

Will Jason finally have his Day?

One of the more amazing event records on the PGA Tour is Jason Day’s level of consistency at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Nine top 10 finishes from fourteen starts for a thirty-seven-year-old Aussie is remarkable given the course rotation and changeable weather of the Monterey Peninsula.

However, what’s more amazing is that such an accomplished closer has yet to win the event. Still, there are solid reasons to believe this year could be the one! His current form is strong with a promising start to 2025 when he nearly won the American Express on his penultimate start followed by a solid effort at the Farmers Insurance Open last week.

We have profited on several occasions from our combo bets of top 10 and outright win on Jason Day at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, so let’s go again!

Why do Two Previous Champions have healthy chances this year?

Multiple champions have always been a thing at Pebble Beach with Phil Mickelson a five-time champion. For our final two selections, we prefer two former winners who were not subjected to last week’s brutal test along the Californian coast at Farmers Insurance.

From Win to Win

Firstly, we start with the 2020 winner Nick Taylor, who only recently won the Sony Open.

The Canadian has become one of the most feared closers on the PGA Tour and given he followed up his win with a strong week at the American Express, we can say that the thirty-six-year-old is in strong form this term.

With that in mind, this week’s test is right up Taylor’s street, as he is primarily an approach shot, short game specialist.

Betting on Familiar Turf

The second former winner on our card this week is Tom Hoge, whose only PGA Tour win came here in 2022. The thirty-five-year-old from North Carolina is an attractive price. This is because both players are benefiting from a week when World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler makes his delayed seasonal debut, which is helping to inflate the prices across the field.

Hoge himself has started 2025 brightly with an 8th-place finish at the Sentry being his best. However, his finishing positions in the two events since have not reflected a couple of fast starts.

Tom Hoge is a superb value play using BetOnline’s extensive range of place markets combined with a smaller stake on him landing a second win at Pebble Beach.
