Top sportsbooks have released their odds for various upcoming events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

These events will feature the best athletes in the world. In order to be more familiar with the people whom we can bet on, we should get to know some of them.

Here is a look at the best athletes that you’ll soon see compete at these Olympics.

Norwegian Distance Runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is Norway’s most famous distance runner.

He is currently viewed as the best in the world at the 1500m.

Currently, he is favored at -220 to win this event, and you can see him start to run this event on August 2.

The 1500m prelims take place on August 2, with the semifinals on August 4 and the finals on August 6.

What’s At Stake

Great Britain’s Josh Kerr is the leading candidate to upset the Norwegian star.

If Ingebrigtsen should win, it will be a tremendous accomplishment of historical note.

He would be just the second man in history to win multiple gold medals in the 1500m at the Olympics.

Why The Norwegian Should Win

Ingebrigtsen has earned his reputation as the best 1500m runner in the world by running a super impressive 3:26.73 in July of this year in Monaco.

With this performance, he became the fourth-best in this event in world history.

French Swimmer Leon Marchand

If you thought American legend Michael Phelps was good, then you should acquaint yourself with young French swimmer Leon Marchand.

Marchand has already won one gold medal in these Olympics.

In the 400m individual medley final, he achieved a time of 4:02.95. This is an Olympic record that easily bested the time that Phelps accomplished back in 2008.

Marchand is currently favored at -240 to win the 200m individual medley. The final is scheduled for August 2.

More About Marchand

Phelps was 23 back in 2008 when he dominated the Beijing Olympics.

Impressively, Marchand just turned 22.

The French swimmer showed how good he was when he was even younger.

He has accumulated great success in the American collegiate landscape, where he competes for Arizona State.

Swimmer Summer McIntosh

Summer McIntosh is a young sensation. She is all of 17. Despite her age, she is recognized as one of the world’s top female swimmers.

This is actually her second go in the Olympics.

For the 2021 Olympics, she competed as a 14-year-old. She was the youngest member of Canada’s Olympics squad.

She was close to medaling at that point.

In 2023, she really started to shine as she continued to mature physically. In that year, she accomplished two world records.

She’s currently favored at +185 to win the 200m intermediate medley. The final takes place on August 3.

Sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson

Similar to Marchand, Sha’Carri Richardson is a young athlete who made a splash in the NCAA.

In 2019, as a freshman for track powerhouse LSU, she accomplished a 10.75 in the 100m.

With this time, she broke an NCAA record and set a U20 world record.

Amazingly, she could have achieved an even faster time in that race because she celebrated early!

She only continues to improve. The threat that she poses is also evident in her relay performances, but she gets more attention for her individual accolades.

Sportsbooks have her listed at -195 to win gold in the 100m, the finals for which will take place on August 3.

Basketball Legend LeBron James

Despite his age – he is currently 39 – LeBron is still going strong for Team USA.

Recently, he took over when the Americans needed to survive a major scare from South Sudan. In that game, he scored his team’s last eleven points, including the game-winning layup.

LeBron is one of the greatest basketball players ever partly because he remains so composed in clutch time.

Besides posing a threat with his drives to the basket, he is also well-known as a solid defender.

He currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers where, in 2020, he won his fourth and most recent NBA championship

The legend out of Ohio also has two gold medals – which he helped his Olympics basketball team earn in 2008 and 2012, respectively.
