  • Designer – Jack Nicklaus
  • Undulating parkland
  • Slick Bentgrass greens with Poa Annua overseed
  • Castle Pines is set at just under 2000 metres above sea level which means the ball travels approximately 7-10% further through the air.
  • The last time the course was used, was in 2006 for the “International” event on the PGA Tour, played to a modified Stableford format.
  • During the intervening years the Castle Pines track has undergone several modernizations and renovations to keep up with the modern advancements in the sport, plus the parkland has matured nicely in that time.

Previous BMW Championship Winners (Since 2017)

Why we are with Billy Horschel this week?

It has been a decade since Billy Horschel the thirty-seven-year-old from Florida won the final two events of the year, to scoop the FedEx Cup. Could Billy Horschel possibly achieve the feat again?

The opening week of this year’s series, the Wyndham Championship saw Horschel feature prominently finishing in seventh at a track he knows well.

Then last week at the St. Jude Championship, Horschel once more built on that with another strong week in Memphis, another course he has a strong affinity with, so that dream is well and truly alive as he enters the third tournament of the FedEx Series.

This week’s Castle Pines Golf Course is new to everyone, and with Horschel’s game well suited to parkland tracks and bentgrass greens there are no negatives.

Remember, Billy Horschel won this BMW Championship ten years ago so he knows what it is all about at this time of the season, and I think he will be secretly fancying doing it again!

At BMR, we suggest readers have a small stake at his Bovada price of (+5000) for a longshot win while keeping the lion’s share of your stake for the place markets at BetOnline for Billy Horschel’s consistency to yield a profit!

Let’s take Dunlap value while it is still there!

Nicholas Dunlap has had one hell of a year on the PGA Tour, starting out with a win as an amateur at the American Express at the monster price of (+100000), which led to him turning professional.

Immediately joining the paid ranks meant the twenty-year-old from Huntsville in Alabama qualified for all the signature events and guaranteed prize money, something that he was forced to forfeit from that initial win.

Dunlap made last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship in 68th position, after winning his second PGA Tour title recently at the Barracuda Championship.  This meant Dunlap he required a good week in Memphis to play this week’s BMW Championship and he achieved that goal in good fashion with a 5th place finish.

Not only does that qualify him for this week’s top 50 BMW Championship but gives him the opportunity to play his way into next week’s Tour Championship.

Fate seems to have been kind to Dunlap getting him to this week’s BMW Championship at an event played at altitude like his Barracuda win on a parkland track which appears well suited to Dunlap’s burgeoning talent.

Here at BMR, we suggest adding Nicholas Dunlap to your best bets at this week’s BMW Championship.
