It’s finally here! Following yet another thrilling regular season of college football, Championship Weekend is upon us, and it promises to be a spectacle. With oddsmakers releasing the college football odds as early as Saturday afternoon, let’s delve into the spreads and totals for each conference final, including what will be the last Pac-12 Championship. Such is life in this era of conference realignment.

Speaking of which, Friday night showcases the clash between the Oregon Ducks and the undefeated Washington Huskies at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This matchup is a rematch of the lone game Oregon lost earlier this season in Seattle. Back then, Washington was a 3-point favorite, but now oddsmakers deem it fitting to open with Oregon laying as high as 9.5 points.

Excessive

Needless to say, I’d take the points, as it seems excessive… especially for a revenge game. For an added layer of excitement, the Heisman winner will likely be the quarterback emerging victorious in this game, with Bo Nix currently the odds-on favorite at most offshore sportsbooks.

On the same evening, in Lynchburg, Virginia, New Mexico State and Liberty will kick off to determine the C-USA champion. Liberty, recently ranked as the 25th-best team in the nation by the latest AP Poll, opens as a double-digit favorite, giving the Aggies 10.5 points. The total opened at 53.5.

Saturday Showdowns

Saturday features three of the biggest games of the weekend, no pun intended. The first among them will decide the winner of the Big 12 conference as Oklahoma State and Texas face off at AT&T Stadium, providing the Longhorns with a de facto home-field advantage. The Cowboys are getting two touchdowns, and the total is set at 55.

However, the actual curtain-raiser of the day features Miami (OH) and Toledo, competing for the MAC Championship at Ford Field. Toledo opens as an 8-point favorite, with the total set at 45.5.

Next in Line

By the time these two games are heading into the fourth quarter, Boise State and UNLV will meet in Las Vegas to determine the champion of the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos are only giving up a field goal, and the total is set at 58 as they look to go back-to-back after defeating Fresno State, last year.

Just one hour later, a trio of games will kick off. The Sun Belt Championship will be contested by Appalachian State and Troy, with the Trojans giving up a touchdown and the total hovering around 51.

Meanwhile, SMU and Tulane will vie for AAC honors in New Orleans. The Green Wave is laying 4 points, and the total is 50.5.

However, all eyes will be fixed on the SEC Championship as Georgia and Alabama clash in Atlanta. The Bulldogs opened as 5-point favorites, with the total set at 55.

Nighttime Action

For Saturday night, we have two games, unfortunately occurring simultaneously. Hence, I doubt many will be tuning in to watch the Louisville Cardinals and the Florida State Seminoles go head-to-head for the ACC Championship. After losing Jordan Travis due to injury, the Seminoles are only 3.5-point favorites, with the total set at 51.5.

The game that everyone will be glued to, though hopefully not a snoozer, is the Big 10 Championship as Michigan faces the Iowa Hawkeyes after defeating Ohio State in the last week of the regular season. The Wolverines are a 23-point favorite (you read that right), and the total is set at 35.5. To give you an idea of what oddsmakers think of Iowa’s offensive firepower, their team total prop is less than two touchdowns.
