Michigan holds steady in second place, even though they enjoyed a bye week. Meanwhile, Ohio State and Florida State claim the third and fourth positions, preserving their perfect records. Unfortunately, Oklahoma couldn’t do the same, as they stumbled against Kansas, leading to a drop from sixth to tenth in the AP Poll.
PAC-12 Hopes
This twist of fate opens up opportunities for the PAC-12. After triumphing over Stanford, thanks to another stellar performance by Michael Penix Jr., the Washington Huskies stand strong in fifth place. However, the team that seized the moment after Oklahoma’s misstep is Oregon. The Ducks secured a convincing road victory against Utah and are now 6th.
I’m anticipating the first CFP rankings to mirror the current AP Poll, so both Washington and Oregon find themselves on the outside looking in. The upcoming clash between Michigan and Ohio State could alter the landscape, potentially creating an opening for either the Huskies or the Ducks.
