Eduardo Rodriguez (2-1, 5.33 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) takes the hill for the Snakes on Saturday after lasting only four innings against the Dodgers on Monday, in which he was touched for three runs on seven hits in an 11-6 loss to LA.
It was the second consecutive start in which the veteran southpaw has looked less than stellar after allowing five runs over five innings to the Mets in his previous start.
Astros Pitching Profile
Japanese import Yusei Kikuchi (3-0, 2.57 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) has benefited from a change of scenery after the Blue Jays shipped him to Houston in late July. Since the trade, the southpaw has flourished and was at his best in his last start when he limited the Royals to just one run and five hits over seven full innings in a 5-1 Astros victory.
The Pick
Kikuchi has made six starts in an Astros uniform, and Houston has won all of them. Although the team struggled in its last set against the Reds entering this series, I like their chances with Kikuchi on the Hill and the D-Backs’ Rodriguez floundering.
