- Heavily undulating especially around the greens, the course has matured well since being built for purpose amongst coastal parkland in 2008.
- Because of its coastal location, it is still susceptible to the elements which can change dramatically.
- Players with good wind management, longish off the tee, and strong short games have prospered at the track.

As always over in Great Britain on a coastal track, the weather forecast takes on a higher level of importance. Currently, a wet and breezy week is forecast though nothing outrageously bad, and starting to improve from Friday’s second round onwards.
Can Clark Carry His Good Form?
Yes, I have a sneaky feeling that Wyndham Clark can carry his good form over from the Travelers Championship on his last start to this week in Scotland.
The last two seasons have seen Clark travel over for this event since it became co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour and the thirty-year-old from Denver has acquitted himself creditably when finishing in the top 25 on both occasions.
It’s been a season of peaks and troughs for last year’s U.S. Open winner who won the weather-affected Pebble Beach Pro-am followed by runner-up finishes at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.
His recent 9th place finish at TPC River Highlands in the Travelers Championship was a nice uptick in form for Clark after a lackluster few weeks that saw him struggling to make cuts.
What has become apparent from Clark is that he appears to play better when in contention these days, after many years of being a “nearly man” before his first win at last year’s Wells Fargo and the U.S. Open that quickly followed.
