Hero World Challenge 2024
December 05-08, 2024 at Albany Course
Course Notes
- Albany Course, Bahamas
- Par 72, 7450 yards
- Designer – Ernie Els
- Links style open design with a desert feel through man-made molding of sand dunes.
- Bermuda grass throughout and an easy test unless the natural weather elements kick up during the week.
Currently, that weather forecast predicts close to perfect conditions on all four days with the wind increasing slightly over the weekend but nothing too excessive for the golfers to be concerned about.

Don’t be a Doubting Thomas
Justin Thomas is on his way back to the top of golf after a terrible 2023. Now, there is no need to doubt the credentials of the two-time major champion.
Several weeks ago, only a misbehaving flat stick on the greens of the Narashino Country Club stopped Justin Thomas from winning the Zozo Championship in Japan.
There is no doubt he needs to putt better this week in the Bahamas but that is something he has done previously at the Albany Course, where he has accumulated an impressive plethora of form with four top 5 finishes in succession.
Despite so many question marks surrounding the other top players’ inactivity in recent weeks, that is not a concern for the thirty-one-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky.
Fatherhood Fuel
There is also such a thing as “Nappy Factor” in golf, a theory developed by esteemed English Professor Keith Elliott, who charted how new fathers were often prone to win events in the short term after their new fatherhood. With that in mind, Justin Thomas announced his new arrival only a week ago on Instagram.
It might be the final event of 2024 on the PGA Tour but there is a good bet to be had with Justin Thomas at (+1100) for the Hero World Challenge.

Brian Harman leaving it late to be a Hero!
Last year’s Open Champion, Brian Harman, has been consistent over 2024. However, he has yet to win a PGA Tour event and despite leaving it late, he could be an unexpected winner of the Hero World Challenge.
The diminutive Harman from Georgia played well here last year on debut for 8th when rounding off his breakout year after that claret jug win over in Great Britain. Interestingly, last March he had a very good chance to the sport’s “unofficial fifth major”, the Players Championship, only missing out on a bumper (+6600) payout, leaving us settling for good place returns for profits.
Harman’s Advantage
With the majority of the players above him in the betting being inactive for the last few months, Harman teeing it up a couple of weeks ago in the RSM Classic gives him an obvious advantage. Factor into the equation that the thirty-seven-year-old closed the RSM with a 64 for 23rd and we have a value bet at a rather inflated price this week.
Remember this is an event where having a good short game has always been a huge positive, and there are not many better putters on the PGA Tour than Brian Harman. Top-rated sportsbooks are showing (+4000) about Brian Harman winning this week’s Hero World Challenge and we suggest you take that price along with a Top 5 finish.
