Top NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors +7.5 (-110) at Bookmaker (visit our Bookmaker Review)
After taking Tuesday night off for election day, the NBA is back with the 12-game slate for Wednesday night action. There are plenty of exciting matchups on the board.
After going through this deep schedule, I’ve identified the best games to bet in order to make more winning NBA picks at the top-rated sportsbooks.
Miami Heat vs. Phoenix Suns
Wednesday, November 06, 2024 – 09:00 PM ET at Footprint Center
The Miami Heat head to the road to take on the Phoenix Suns. The Heat are coming off a 111-110 home loss to the Sacramento Kings. Now they begin a six-game road trip against one of the best teams in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are 6-1 this season and have won five games in a row. Their most recent outing was a 118-116 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Phoenix Suns got a notch in the win column but failed to cover the spread.
Identity Crisis
The Heat have struggled to find their identity as of late. The Heat have always been known as a defensive first, “grind it out” type of team, but the Heat have made moves to be stronger on offense. This has led to an identity crisis of sorts for the team as while they were originally built on strong defensive principles, three of their top scorers are now net negative on the defensive end.
Tyler Herro leads the team in scoring, however, he is an easy target on the defensive end. Phoenix will look to target Herro with their trio of all-star scorers, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. All three of these players will be able to get the shots they want against Herro, which means that the Heat could be in for a tough night trying to slow down the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix Rising
The Phoenix Suns have elite scorers Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who average 27 and 24 points per game respectively. Both players are lethal in halfcourt settings and can get high-quality shots up even against the best defenders. When going against the weak backcourt defense of the Miami Heat, these two players have an even better chance of having huge nights.
Miami has lost its identity as a team and Jimmy Butler’s time as a top player in the league is coming to an end. Butler plays a hard-nosed style of basketball and he has regressed over the past couple of seasons as the wear and tear of his “grind it out” play style has diminished his effectiveness.
Phoenix Favored
The Phoenix Suns will take advantage tonight by blowing out the Miami Heat at home. Take the Phoenix Suns to cover the spread. The best bet for this game is Phoenix Suns -5.
NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns -5 (-110) at Bookmaker
Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics
Wednesday, November 06, 2024 – 09:00 PM ET at TD Garden
The Golden State Warriors are off to a great start this season with a 6-1 record. They started their five-game road trip with 2 wins. The Warriors got an overtime win against Houston and then went to Washington to defeat the Wizards.
The Warriors were underdogs in the Rockets game but got the straight-up win. The Warriors were heavy favorites in the Wizards game but were able to cover the 10-point spread. Now they face the defending NBA champions and the best team in the NBA, the Boston Celtics.
No Weak Links
The Boston Celtics have shown everyone why they won the title last year and why they are the overwhelming favorites to win it this year.
The Celtics have only lost one game so far this season, a hard-fought overtime loss against the Indiana Pacers. In the loss, the Celtics were able to surmount a huge deficit to push the game to overtime. This game displayed why the Celtics are so tough to beat. Even down by double digits, they have the ability to get defensive stops, which can lead them to go on huge runs and negate any deficit.
The Celtics have one of the best defenses in the league. There are no weak spots on this Celtic defense. All of their perimeter players are elite defenders, and there’s no one you can attack in the pick-and-roll situation. The Celtics’ ability to defend as well as getting high-efficiency looks on the offensive end has made them the best team in the league.
Taking the Points
In a battle between two of the top teams in the league, I’m going to take the points in this one.
The Golden State Warriors have shown excellent athleticism this season, and they have returned to being a good team on defense as well. The Warriors also can match the Celtics’ offensive explosions with sharpshooters Steph Curry and Buddy Hield.
In what should be a close game that comes down to the wire, the 7.5 points will be too valuable to pass up. In the marquee game of the night, take the Golden State Warriors +7.5.
