The NBA has a smaller five-game slate for us to enjoy tonight. In spite of having fewer options, let’s take a look at the games in order to find winning NBA picks with the best betting odds we could find!

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls

Monday, November 11, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at United Center

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the last unbeaten team in the NBA and will look to continue their winning streak when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls tonight. Chicago is 4-6 on the year, however, that is not surprising as they had traded some of their best players in the off-season and are looking to rebuild. However, they are playing above expectations so far this season, coming off a 12-point win in Atlanta on Saturday.

The Cavaliers are coming off of a 105-100 comeback win over the Brooklyn Nets. Normally, this might be considered a letdown spot for Cleveland, but with the fact that they are still undefeated on the season, it is reasonable to expect that we should still see a highly motivated performance from the Cavaliers, even as heavy favorites.

The Matchup

The two teams are opposite in the way that they play. The Cavaliers have the best defense in the NBA and the Chicago Bulls are all offense. The Bulls will struggle to get stops and they will rely on outscoring their opponents. This should feed right into Cleveland’s hands.

Cleveland has done well in this matchup recently. The Cavaliers have won 7 of the last eight games between the two franchises.

Although I like Cleveland to win and get the cover tonight, the best bet for this game is the under. Although Chicago has problems on defense, Cleveland will be able to put the clamps on the Bulls and should keep the game slower-paced.

Usually, the better team does impose the style of play upon the weaker opponent, and I expect to see the Cavaliers grind the game out tonight. The Cavaliers’ unbeaten streak will continue, however, the best bet for this game is under 236.

Brooklyn Nets vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Monday, November 11, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Smoothie King Center

The Brooklyn Nets will be looking to bounce back after two tough losses against the NBA’s best teams. The Nets lost on Friday night against the NBA Champion Boston Celtics 108-104 in overtime. After that heartbreaking loss, you would think they were in for a letdown on Saturday night. However, they built up a big lead before suffering another heartbreaking loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now the Nets road trip continues, albeit against inferior competition, when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans.

The Pelicans’ injured reserve list is longer than the WaitList at your favorite restaurant. The Pelicans have almost all of their top players on their injury report right now.

In the latest setback, team leader Zion Williamson has been diagnosed with a hamstring strain and will miss a significant amount of time. Shooting guard Jordan Hawkins, Herbert Jones, CJ McCollum, and Dejounte Murray are already out of the lineup for significant time.

The only positive news on the injury front is that Trey Murphy III could return to action for tonight’s game.

The Pelicans are struggling right now on a four-game losing streak and they are 1-7 in their last eight games. Their most recent loss was on Friday night where they fell 115-88 to the Orlando Magic. The Pelicans last win came on November 1st when they beat the Indiana Pacers 125-118 at home.

The Matchup

Brooklyn comes into this game playing better basketball, but one has to wonder how much the two crushing defeats will play into their effort tonight. The Pelicans will be motivated to put forth a good effort being back at home.

I lean toward the Brooklyn Nets to get the win here, however, once again the best play is on the total. 212 points is simply too low for these two teams who are going to get up and down the floor. Both teams will play at a faster pace tonight and it will not be surprising to see the backups fire up shots early in the shot clock, leading to more shots on goal than usual.

We have a good opportunity tonight to take advantage of this mispriced total when the Brooklyn Nets visit the New Orleans Pelicans. Bet the Over.
