Despite eight games taking place tonight, there is little to be said for most of the matchups in terms of picking a winner with any real value.
The only heavyweight matchup in store is the meeting between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars, both sitting 3rd and 4th respectively in the Western Conference with just one point separating both teams.

Prior to tonight’s game, the Buffalo Sabres have gone 0-6 on home ice against the Boston Bruins in recent years, but tonight we believe they can finally put an end to that trend. The Bruins are nowhere near as strong as they have been in recent years and are 2-8 in their previous 10 road games, as well as 0-10 if we exclude games they won in overtime.
It must be noted the Buffalo Sabres are no heroes themselves. Having already gone on a 10+ game losing streak this season, their fortunes have turned slightly in recent weeks and they have been able to pick up wins at least. Having won 4 of their previous 10, they have also won 50% of their previous 10 home games.

Of course, the Boston Bruins could come into town and win, but considering the NHL odds, we feel the value lies with the home team Buffalo in this instance. We don’t fully trust the Sabres but we also wouldn’t advise laying the juice on Boston to win this road game given their recent form on their travels.
Give us the home team Buffalo as underdogs in this scenario. They have an offense that can stick it to Boston. Their only concern is defense but, given the Bruins’ offensive weapons these days, it’s pretty much a one-man show with David Pastrnak at the helm.

Although the Dallas Stars sit 4th in the Western Conference and the Las Vegas Golden Knights sit 2nd, we believe that, given how poor a run the Golden Knights have been on lately, the better pick to win tonight’s game is the traveling Dallas.
Just 1.5 wins separate both teams but the Dallas Stars have played one game less than the Golden Knights and a win tonight would put them in the driving seat in terms of moving ahead in the overall standings.
This is essentially a pick’ em game and we are siding with the Dallas Stars to win this matchup as slight underdogs.
