Oilers Thump Florida in Game 4
Despite looking to bet on the Florida Panthers to win tonight, we must remember sports betting is all about seizing the opportunities, and last time out we cashed a nice bet as we predicted the Edmonton Oilers to win by 2+ goals at +210 NHL betting odds. Florida never got going and found themselves down 5-1 at the start of the second period, which saw them then withdraw their number one goaltender to be rested for tonight’s game. They knew a 5-1 deficit wasn’t worth chasing on the road with the next game on home ice. Rember the Panthers need just one more game to win the Stanley Cup.
Florida Better on Home Ice
Edmonton has struggled on the road in recent games. Despite going 6-5 on the road throughout this season’s playoffs, the Oilers are only 2-5 in their previous seven road games, whilst the Florida Panthers are 8-3 on home ice during this season’s playoffs and are currently on a four-game winning streak on home ice.
The Panthers didn’t need to win the previous game, and we all know they would have liked to hoist Lord Stanley on home ice. We are not saying they lost on purpose, but when they went down 4-1 they pretty much gave up on the game and moved their focus to winning Game 5 instead. We believe they have decent odds to do so despite their NHL Stanley Cup betting odds.

The Panthers have owned the Edmonton Oilers thus far during this series. The only game they lost was the one game they could afford to lose. We are ready to get behind the Panthers at -125 on the moneyline to wrap things up on home ice tonight for a 4-1 series win and a Stanley Cup victory.
Edmonton put a lot into game number four, they knew they had to win and they badly didn’t want a sweep in the finals. They can at least say they weren’t swept.
Who knows, maybe the Oilers will surprise us and win Game 5, taking the next game back to Edmonton where another home win would set things up for a showdown back In Florida. However, for now, that’s all irrelevant as they need to win tonight.
