Los Angeles Rams vs. Chicago Bears

Rams Complete Comeback Against 49ers
The Rams claimed their first victory of the season in a nail-biter, as Joshua Karty’s 37-yard field goal with just two seconds left sealed a 27-24 win over the 49ers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
Kyren Williams tied the game at 24 with a four-yard touchdown run, leaving 1:51 on the clock. After a quick defensive stand forced a 49ers punt, Xavier Smith’s 38-yard punt return set up the Rams at midfield.
A pass interference penalty on a throw from Matthew Stafford to tight end Colby Parkinson pushed the Rams deeper into 49ers territory. From there, Williams’ six-yard run bled the clock down to five seconds, setting up Karty’s game-winning kick.
Williams was a standout performer, racking up 116 total yards and three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving), while Stafford completed 16 of 26 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown.
Bears Fall in Indianapolis
Meanwhile, the Bears mounted a late comeback in their 21-16 road loss to the Colts on Sunday, scoring their only two touchdowns in the fourth quarter but falling short after facing another double-digit deficit.
Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams set career highs, throwing 52 passes and completing 33 for 363 yards. He tossed the first two touchdown passes of his NFL career but also turned the ball over three times, with two interceptions and a lost fumble.
Fellow rookie Rome Odunze had a breakout performance, hauling in six receptions for 112 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Cole Kmet added 10 catches for 97 yards and one touchdown, while DJ Moore contributed eight grabs for 78 yards.
The Bears’ ground game struggled, however, gaining just 63 yards on 28 attempts. Roschon Johnson led with 30 yards on eight carries, and D’Andre Swift was limited to 20 yards on 13 carries.
Defensively, the Bears played well, intercepting two passes and holding the Colts to 306 total yards and 15 first downs. However, Indianapolis capitalized on two key errors—one touchdown came after an offside penalty on a punt return, and another was set up by a Williams fumble at the Bears’ 16-yard line.
The Pick
The Rams will be short-handed and, on the road, but they could be 2-1 right now. They played the two teams that made it to the NFC Championship Game last season and came back from 14 down in the third quarter against the Lions on the road, taking a three-point lead late before losing in overtime, and came back from 14 down in the third quarter against the 49ers, took a three-point lead late and won.
I like this Bears defense but the Rams have a better quarterback, and a better head coach, and Williams has been efficient in the ground game.
Backing the Rams to cover +3 makes sense because they’ve proven they can finish strong in tight games, and they’ve got the tools to exploit defenses.
