UFC 314 Information
- Date & Time: Saturday, April 12, 2025 – 06:00 PM EDT
- Location: Kaseya Center, Miami, Florida
- Scheduled Fights: 13
- Main Event: Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes (UFC Featherweight Title Bout)
Tresean Gore vs. Marco Tulio
UFC 314 Middleweight Bout
Gore: The Story So Far
We’ve watched Tresean Gore fight through the Ultimate Fighter Season 29 to become a fully-fledged UFC roster member. Although he’s displayed evolution in his skill set since arriving on the big stage, it’s hard to ignore the fact that a 5-2 pro-MMA record doesn’t feel like enough experience at a UFC level.
- Gore Pro MMA Record: 5-2-0
- Gore Knockout Wins: 1
- Gore Submission Wins: 3
Tulio: The Story So Far
In contrast to Gore, Brazil’s Marco Tulio earned his stripes on the regional scene to book a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series, and with nine consecutive wins and a knockout in his UFC debut earlier this year, this kickboxing specialist might have what it takes to cause a stir at 185lbs.Â
- Tulio Pro MMA Record: 13-1
- Tulio Knockout Wins: 9
- Tulio Submission Wins: 1
UFC 314 Gore vs. Tulio: Skillset Breakdown
Tulio has a respectable skill set, Gore has always shown potential; he’s riding a two-fight win streak, but from his 2-2 UFC record, said wins are notably versus a lower level of competition. He does have the wrestling to potentially remove Tulio’s striking threat, but I don’t believe it’s a high enough level to cause problems for fifteen straight minutes.
Tulio is a much more technical and powerful striker. Watching Josh Fremd, despite losing the fight, land clean and damaging shots on Gore isn’t a good sign. Such a red flag, heading into a battle versus such a dangerous kickboxer, might repeat history when a mediocre Cody Brundage managed to put Gore out inside one round.
Tulio Moneyline Reasoning
Tulio knockout backers should feel confident in their tickets this weekend. Due to the fact that Gore doesn’t have three-round wrestling abilities, we’re going to see striking exchanges between the two, and the difference in levels will become apparent when the Brazilian dominates.
The available UFC odds favor Tulio, and rightfully so. As the first leg of our parlay, we’ll sip some juice on the Brazilian striking savage, as his experience and striking advantages will dictate this fight in all three rounds if a knockout blow doesn’t surface first. Â

Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett
UFC 314 Lightweight Bout
Chandler: The Story So Far
Is Michael Chandler finally catching the break he needs? Dana White and Co. have matched him up versus an opponent outside of the top-10 rankings, as he steps away from the killers’ row he’s accustomed to, which has involved the likes of Charles Oliveira (Twice), Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.
Whether Chandler’s strength of schedule will prove dividends against an unproven superstar in Paddy Pimblett is yet to be seen. Still, there’s one guarantee when we’re always looking at a contender for Fight of the Night when ‘Iron’ Mike Chandler is involved!Â
- Chandler Pro MMA Record: 23-9-0
- Chandler Knockout Wins: 11
- Chandler Submission Wins: 7
Pimblett: The Story So Far
Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett is the biggest superstar in the UFC who isn’t ranked inside the top-10 of his division. In fact, he’s arguably one of the biggest superstars throughout the entire promotion. There’s been a lot of doubt whether the superstar status can match up in the octagon, but with a six-win streak and his first bout versus a top-ranked 155lb foe coming this weekend, it’s a make-or-break moment for the Liverpudlian celebrity fighter.
- Pimblett Pro MMA Record: 22-3-0
- Pimblett Knockout Wins: 5
- Pimblett Submission Wins: 11
UFC 314 Chandler vs. Pimblett: Skillset Breakdown
A commendable wrestling background combined with an athletic physique and striking power that’s seen him win 11 of his 23 pro-MMA wins by knockout is going to be a problem for most. When Chandler puts his foot on the gas, it takes everything from his opposition to prevent a catastrophic end, but aged 38 with so many miles on the clock, is he really capable of putting out Pimblett, who, for all his downfalls, has displayed rock-solid durability throughout his career?
For Pimblett, his striking mostly sticks to the fundamentals, and his jiu-jitsu is where he shines. It’s safe to say that Chandler won’t be hunting many takedowns, so a rock ’em-sock ’em style brawl could be on the cards.
Would Paddy actively seek takedowns of his own? The Englishman has never been knocked out, but does Chandler have the power to end this trend? Is Paddy’s jiu-jitsu enough to make a man submit that’s only ever lost by submission in 1 of his 32 pro contests?
With so many questions surrounding this contest, it’s no surprise that the money UFC betting odds are tightly lined. Chandler should have the power edge, and he certainly has the elite-level experience over Paddy, but the Liverpool fighter has been consistently doubted throughout his career while proving a lot of critics wrong when fight night arrives.
Over 1.5 Rounds Reasoning
Instead of focusing on the winner, I like the totals value, which is set at -200 for the over 1.5 rounds. Durability will be crucial here, and I also believe both men will realise they need to reserve cardio for five rounds. This could lead to a feeling-out process in the first round, and considering we only need 7 minutes, 30 seconds, of action to hit the over, it’s a play I can get behind.
The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review favor Paddy, but we’re favoring two chins and respectable jiu-jitsu defense. Chandler has seen over 1.5 rounds in 3 of his previous 4 bouts, and the exact same statistic holds true for Paddy.
There’s a huge possibility that this fight ends inside the distance, but the early stages of the fight, not so much. Scousers don’t get knocked out, nor does Chandler, in the first round, at least!
