The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Vegas for an action-packed evening of octagon violence, with Neil Magny and Carlos Prates headlining the event. And, of course, I’m here to supplement your UFC parlay betting needs with the perfect parlay selections.
Before heading to the top-rated sportsbooks, below are two of my favorite moneyline selections from the UFC Vegas 100 fight card. After thoroughly analyzing these UFC odds and betting markets, I think they present the perfect pairing for this week’s edition of the ‘Punching Parlay.’
UFC Vegas 100 Information

Cortavious Romious vs. Gaston Bolanos
UFC Vegas 100 Bantamweight Bout
Romious: The Story So Far
Cortavious Romious booked his ticket into the UFC via Dana White’s Contender Series back in August. Although his bout went the distance, he proved he was a dawg in the octagon and now gets an opportunity to put his name on the map when faced with a credited kickboxer.
- Romious Pro MMA Record: 9-2-0
- Romious Knockout Wins: 2
- Romious Submission Wins: 5
Bolanos: The Story So Far
Gaston Bolanos somehow managed to claw his way from a 6-3 record in Bellator to earning himself a UFC contract, and since joining Dana White’s promotion, he’s 1-1. We know the UFC loves strikers, and he’s a former kickboxer, but honestly, I’d say he’s struggled to present a serious threat on the feet, and losing to strikes against a wrestler in Marcus McGhee is evidence of this.
- Bolanos Pro MMA Record: 7-4-0
- Bolanos Knockout Wins: 6
- Bolanos Submission Wins: 0
UFC Vegas 100 Romious vs. Bolanos: Skillset Breakdown
Romious is a slick southpaw striker who’ll own a speed, grappling, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu advantage in this contest. It doesn’t matter how much Bolanos trains with Team Alpha Male, he won’t catch up to reach the level of lifelong grapplers, and it’s a huge hole in his game that will stunt his potential. Thai plum, elbows, knees and sweet kickboxing tools are great until you’re dragged onto the mat by an aggressive, non-stop pressure fighter in Romious.
Romious Moneyline Reasoning
Romious has a history of smooth grappling and submission wins, but don’t neglect the fact that he’s always looking to damage his opponent with strikes before the taps ever arrive. He’s a strong, speedy striker on the feet or the ground, and while he might not match the technical aspect of Bolanos’ kickboxing, he has the confidence, volume and finishing potential.
That said, Romious has the most obvious path to victory through his grappling upside. Bolanos has often looked like a fish out of the water on his back, and should this fight hit the mat, it’ll be a stoppage win for the favorite or a collection of points that will assist him in dominating the scorecards.

Cody Stamann vs. Da’Mon Blackshear
UFC Vegas 100 Bantamweight Bout
Stamann: The Story So Far
I remember the days when we fight fans eagerly awaited Cody Stamann’s collegiate wrestling to dominate the 135-lb weight class and become a top contender. Well, that was several years ago, and we’re still waiting.
Stamann holds a 7-6-1 UFC record, and here’s an interesting fact: all of his seven wins were against former UFC fighters who had exited the company with ugly losing streaks. Aged 34, it’s not like he’s past it, but the problem is that he never reached it!
- Stamann Pro MMA Record: 21-7-1
- Stamann Knockout Wins: 7
- Stamann Submission Wins: 2
Blackshear: The Story So Far
A similar story could be told for Da’Mon Blackshear. He entered the UFC with a certain level of hype and, with a 2-3-1 record, has dramatically failed to live up to it. However, despite the ugly-looking record, his recent losses have come against two high-ranked opponents, and his ceiling in the division is undoubtedly higher than that of Stamann.
- Blackshear Pro MMA Record: 14-7-1
- Blackshear Knockout Wins: 2
- Blackshear Submission Wins: 9
UFC Vegas 100 Stamann vs. Blackshear: Skillset Breakdown
Naturally, Stamann’s wrestling is his clear path to victory. He’ll use his boxing to get on the inside, push the action to the cage or even shoot in the open. From there, he might be comfortable in guard and just let strikes go and hope this is a viable route to victory. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve expected from him in every fight, and he’s failed us more often than not.
In addition, Blackshear will present a serious jiu-jitsu threat to the wrestler. Submission wins have been constant throughout Blackshear’s career, and when a fighter wins by twister, you know his varied offense is at a high enough level to cause some issues for wrestling-based fighters.
Takedowns and ground and pound are all Stamann has, and we just haven’t seen him achieve this enough to trust him. He will suffer a significant size disadvantage in both height and reach, and the elephant in the room is that he doesn’t have a win over an active UFC fighter on his record.
Blackshear Moneyline Reasoning
Blackshear has the best defense against Stamann’s wrestling. He’s also slick with back control, which might come in useful during scrambling situations. On that note, I wouldn’t be surprised if the fight played out on the feet more often than not. Blackshear’s length will be a huge factor here, and in striking moments, he can dance on the outside, and piece up the small, stocky-wrestler at range.
