UFC Vegas 76 Hot Prospect Profile: Bruno “The Hulk” Ferreira

  • Pro MMA Record: 10-0-0 (7 KO/TKOs, 3 submissions)
  • UFC Record: 1-0 (1 KO/TKO)

After accepting his UFC debut bout versus Gregory Rodrigues on short notice (2 weeks), many expected the hype of Bruno Ferreira to get crushed. However, “The Hulk” lived up to his nickname and countered Rodriguez with a left bomb and collected the eighth round one stoppage of his short career.

With a pro-MMA debut dating back to just 2019, experience isn’t on the side of Ferreira. Nor is size, as a 5’10 middleweight. But for what he lacks in size and experience, he undoubtedly makes up for in aggression and power.

Ferreira ran through the MMA regional scene competition to demolish Leon Aliu in Dana White’s Contender Series, where he subsequently earned a UFC contract. With an undefeated 10-0 record, with all victories being finished via KO/TKO or submission, he’s a violent prospect at 185 lb that’s guaranteed to put up a good fight.

Ferreira vs. Ruziboev: The Fight Tape

It could be argued that Ferreira is facing a lower level of competition than what surfaced in his UFC debut. He’ll welcome Nursulton Ruziboev (34-8-2) to the octagon, an untested newcomer that boasts zero experience at an elite level of pro-MMA.

From Ruziboev’s regional scene bouts, we can see he’s faced lackluster opponents. We’ve watched him lose control in wrestling and striking situations, and I genuinely believe he’s overly mismatched this weekend.

Oppositely, Ferreira has displayed high-level skills in multiple facets of the fight game. He isn’t just a mixed martial artist with hype behind an unblemished record; he legitimately deserves the record presented because of the skills he’s garnered and put on display.

From explosive takedowns accompanied by heavy top control, ground and pound, one-punch KO power, and a respectable striking technique when standing. The only question looms around his cardio, which we’ve yet to witness because he’s walked through the opposition with eight first-round finishes and two others that finished within 7 minutes.

UFC Vegas 76 Hot Prospect Best Bet

The available UFC odds at the top US sportsbooks show an excellent Ferreira price considering the skill difference in this bout.

I don’t expect Ruziboev to come close in challenging the diverse skillset of the Brazilian, and it’s a betting lock you can rely on.

UFC Pick: Bruno Ferreira -185 at Bovada [1.85u to win 1u]
