On this day September 1st

  • 1922 NYC law requires all "pool" rooms to change name to "billiards"
Remember the old movie The Music Man? Probably not. It was an old musical and corny as hell but the wife likes it and has watched it a lot. They had a song w/ these lyrics.

Trouble (oh, we got trouble)
Right here in River City (right here in River City)
With a capital "T" and that rhymes with "P" and that stands for pool

No idea why that came to mind.

NCAAF:
Sides: 3-2 +0.77
Props: 5-2 +3.50

Miami -16.5 (-105)

Xavier Restrepo 50+ Rec Yards +116
Xavier Restrepo anytime TD +130
Henry Parrish Jr. 70+ Rush Yards +106

The Miami D line should be good enough to give MiamiOH fits. Don't think that MiamiOH has the passing game to push the ball down the field and should struggle to score if Mia comes in ready to play. Miami has some playmakers if they get some consistent QB play they should move the ball on both the ground and in the air.

Louisville -7.5 (-110)

Jamari Thrash 90+ Rec Yards +114
Ahmari Huggins-Bruce anytime TD +230

Will be interesting to see how the new air-raid offense fits in Louisville. They brought in a lot of new talent via the portal and could have a big hitter in Thrash at WR. Louisville run D kind of worries me although not sure GT has all the pieces needed to take advantage. GT just seems to have more questions and variables coming in than Louisvilles does. Hoping the Louisville spread offense wears GT down and they avoid turnovers while pulling away in the second half.
