2nd Time In 4 Months I'm At Mall People Running Out Per Thought Gunshots

At the Orlando Florida Mall yesterday evening, and everyone is running towards the exits. We're talking thousands of ppl

What was thought to be a shooting (tuned out kids lighting firecrackers inside the mall)

Same thing happened a few months ago in Lakeland FL mall the mall emptied for something similar

Cops came quickly both times considering, with high tech weapons drawn

Not sure if anyone has ever experienced anything like this but you can't describe what's running through your mind as you scramble for the exits

Not sure which is worse....

Us living in a world that has these shootings going on, or us all having to go through situations like this knowing it could be happening anytime - any place

In '04 I moved to Vegas close to the Boulevard Mall. There had been a gang shootout in the food court just before I moved in and people were terrified to shop there. The mall was virtually empty for months, and never fully recovered. Incidents like this cause effects that last a long time. I guess there's nothing we can do about this craziness except go on with our lives.

My daughter asked a good question after it happened yesterday if the employee from the stores run out too

I know both times it happened all the stores start pulling their rolling metal doors down and locking them

So if you're not in an actual store and in the middle of the mall when it all goes down you're screwed

jeez wager, an experience like this must be hair raising. luckily it was only kids lighting fire crackers but damn thats so close to home. 2 times in 4 months? be safe out there dude

Nobody knew it was only firecrackers of course until later that night once police investigated and you read or hear it on the news

But when you see thousands running with fear in their eyes, everyone else runs too

Better safe than sorry I guess

God forbid it ever happens but if you are ever at a mall or somewhere similar, instead of running for the exits in the hallways get inside one of those stores where they pull all the steel doors down and lock everyone in and out

If not you'll be stuck out there where it's most likely going down
