There’s an angle in Race 5 that I have been playing for years, and it’s been pretty successful at all three major NY tracks. Trainer James Ferraro excels with runners coming back off short rest. Today’s entrant is coming back after racing 14 days ago. That was a decent turf sprint effort, first off the Ferraro claim. Ferraro never wins first off the claim, so we can expect some improvement second off. Especially with the quick wheel back. Plus, horse has some competitive turf sprint allowance races in its past performances. This is how I am betting it:

$2 exbx 6/3,5,7,9
.50c tri 6,9/ALL/6,9
$1 P3 6/ALL/5,6

Race 5 is typically around 3pm EST. When they did the late Friday cards, it was great living in NY. Everyone would leave work early, head to the Belmont backyard with a cooler full of beers, and kick off the weekend. Now it’s a mess. And they’ve prohibited coolers in the backyard there.

I’ve got a lot of respect for you and all current horse players. I used to live at the track and eventually the local fairgrounds for satellite wagering pre marriage. It’s a lot of work I hit a couple pick sixes back in the day splitting them with partners mind you. Now l just don’t have the energy to read the racing form for hours at a time. When in Vegas I like to sit in sports book and do show parlays. If I’m on l stick around if they keep falling it’s back to the swimming pool.
