BMR BEST BET THREAD - September 2, 2022 🛑

Post your strongest bet of the day. You can use any sport you want, all types of straight wagers accepted, just make it clear.

1. You may play money lines, but only between -300 and +300
2. Scoring is as follows; -110 is risking 1.10 to win 1.00 and risking +110 is risking 1.00 to win 1.10
3. Post the following information:
   Date
   Your record and +/- units
   The play, line, the odds (Use American Odds, not Decimal)
   The book
4. For MLB wagers, both listed pitchers must start in order for your play to be valid unless stated "Action" for the game.
5. For Soccer and Tennis plays: List the date, time, the opponent and how draws and retirements are to be graded.
6. Plays must be posted before the official start time.
7. No Parlays/Teasers
8. Do not edit your post or it will be graded as a -330 loss. If you omit something (e.g. the book), you may add a new post indicating that information as long as it is before the event starts. The play and the odds cannot be changed once posted. Contest participants must follow more stringent posting guidelines.

Alright guys.... I hope we get more action in this thread. I realize I've probably only been posting a Best Bet on 50% of the days so I will try to pick it up too (when I have good plays).

I was disappointed when Tuesday was given a time out for responding to a member of the paid protected posters coming into this thread and taking a shot at Tuesday, yet that poster was not given a time out. I know they have their running battle through out the site but it was never brought into this thread and Tuesday always acted cool to everyone here. In this case the wrong poster was given the time out, but I guess paid protected posters don’t get time outs especially when they are in the lcs contest playing a mod

I'm disappointed about what happened too. It was not my intention to get someone in trouble. I was just trying to avoid this thread becoming a battle ground.

Hopefully, Tuesday will come back and post some plays.

We don't want bets placed for days in advance though (e.g. post a Tuesday play for Saturday result). Post plays need to be able to be scored roughly the same day.

The odds someone indicates in their Best Bet should be the odds available at the time of the post so that if someone see's it, they have a chance to get the same odds.

The idea for this thread, according to Shortstop, was to provide a way for people to tail (or fade) posters who are on a run so we have to make posted plays something that is available at that time to everyone.

My Best Bet today would be Illinois +3 but that line isn't available now for anyone. I was fortunate to get it earlier in the week and posted it in another thread but, as a result of it not being current, I won't be using it in this thread today.

So What if hypothetically I bet on a game Sunday night when the opening lines come out. Can I post that number same day & use that line that I got for a Saturday game ?

No. It doesn't meet the purpose of the thread. "Post your strongest bet of the day." It has to be something for others to be able to tail. Posting a play on Saturday that has last Sunday's odds doesn't meet the intent.

This is not a contest. It was for 4 weeks in June and may be a contest again someday but, right now there is nothing to win. There is obviously some bragging rights that go along with it if you're at near the top of the list. But, we "rank" those who participate and their records so people have an idea of who they should/can tail.

I'm not trying to be a d*ck. I'm just trying to keep the integrity of the thread close to what Shortstop intended.
