Carolina Kid - Passed Away

I am very saddened to say I just received word from the county where CK lived and have been informed that he has passed away. I do not have any details of his passing only that there is now a death certificate on file.

Although I never met CK, having talked to him online and through emails he was very friendly and provided a lot of insight into sports betting. He was the reason I intially visited BMR in 2021 and I am beyond sad to learn of this news.






Again, they did not provide any details or date of his passing so I would not know if/when there is/was a funeral or if there was any family to contact.

Oh no. This is very sad but not surprising to hear this at this point . C.K. had quite different views and tastes than me but I really liked the guy. I believe he had a good heart .

Thank you Tanko for finding out this information so we can all get closure on this. This is a very sad day here at BMR. Ck was a daily fixture here and the majority of the people here loved his company no bullshit not everybody liked him, but the majority did.

He was a very generous man, and I’m telling you there were weeks months he would go on nice runs, a pretty respectable gambler to say the least. He will be missed from this side of the coin RIP to Carolinakid and my condolences go out to his family and friends in his inner-circle.

I don't know what to say, I don't know what to feel with this news. It's easy to say RIP to a person you don't know or never met personally or a death of a celebrity.. but damn! I am so heartbroken rn!

Very sad to hear this. He was beyond generous on the forums with his various contests. His pictures and videos he would have me post where him always having a great time whether was at a Duke basketball game or him being proud of his new car.

He always offered to pay for dinner for my wife and I but I never took up on it. I didn't want to been seen as ever playing possible favorites here on the forum and that's what was always in the back on my mind whenever he would offer.

From his posts and pictures/videos it looks like he lives a very fulfilling life and was always traveling and enjoying life. I hope he is looking down on us and knows how much he has meant to this wonderful community over the years

Sad news. It was almost certain that he's no longer here, for a while now. Still... 99% isn't 100%. It's true in gambling and it's even truer in circumstances like this.

Good point most likely the last moments of his life with a few hundred breaths left he let us know he was very sick. I’m sure that wasn’t easy for him.

CK is like an open book, but he never mentioned any health issues apart from his scheduled eye check-ups. I wonder if he chose not to share that part or if he doesn't know that he's already going to die. But whatever the reason was, I hope he didn't suffer in his last moments.

He loved this forum so much that he made sure to post here even in a near-death situation.

I think this year's NFL contest should be called the Carolina Kid Edition.
