So here is the story, Went there Saturday played in a poker tournament , got destroyed ( this was in an SEZ in BAVET) so I headed on a dirt road for 3 hours in a taxi Phnom Penh, not my favorite place but I love it there, it is pretty crazy there. You can buy Oxycontin, and anything else you want over the counter with no script. I do not do drugs or drink but that is what goes on there.. I get to PP and headed down to 136 street and started to go to the bars and hanging out, it is pretty crazy down there. tons of stuff going on but I do know about the violence, murders, human trafficking, organ harvesting, etc etc the potential threat is always there but I am very aware of my surroundings and on my toes at these places, even in America. However I did something I have always known better and not to do it but I did anyway. Keep in mind, 43 trips to Cambodia this was probably the 20th time to Phnom Penh, I usually just go to the SEZ which are 1000x more dangerous. I never ever walk down street 130 this is where the Viet man was killed Saturday two days before, so I was walking along there at 2:30am walking back to Naga World Casino, I know the areas, I know how you travel and I know you should not be in that area late at night by yourself, I know all of this. I got some extremely worrisome news back home and my head was not in the right place, making phone calls all day and night, messaging family, I was not myself and all I wanted to do was get back to Vietnam asap so I was walking down street 130 on my phone text messaging, just strolling along, did not hear anything at all, the next thing you know my body went flying into some gravel and the sidewalk, at the same time my phone was grabbed, it happened so fast I didn't realize what the hell was happening. I just remember looking up and two guys take off on a motorbike. I am very very lucky, they could of stabbed me, shot me kidnapped me, it is a thing here, they sell people , organ harvesting, sent to scam call centers and beaten and tortured, but this was not some sort of syndicate just two losers trying to make a score and for sure they didn't scope me out earlier this was just a chance they saw with a guy on the phone because I was wearing one of my Vacheron's blue Dial Overseas that is worth 55k,
@slickfazzer no, they didn't get my timepiece but I bet they wish they knew what they could of had. I have been using an old phone, It was an Iphone 8, I had to buy a new phone today. I went back to my hotel and told them and they made me report it to the police. I had some really valuable information on my phone not backed up which is lost. I told the police $500 to get my phone back for me but I was leaving soon but told them to get it and I will come back to get it.They said they know a lot of the thiefs there so maybe they could track who did it but it is doubtful. They told me I am very lucky, they said many foreigners get robbed, stabbed, shot, kidnapped and worse. They asked me about my watch, I told them it was not worth that much, I didn't want them to try to send someone after me for it, hahah, you never know, they make $400 a month. My friends that are police in Vietnam tell me I am crazy and stupid to keep going down there , and maybe this is a wakeup call, many people were not as lucky as me. Like I said, been there many times, I know how to move there and was not acting like myself, I knew better than to be doing what I was doing.
This guy got robbed too
