So now they have whatever it is he had over them.

That could be of value.

Are they the ones who really have them though?

Some reports say when his priority was being raised, they found a safe, which had tapes in them.
Then supposedly they weren’t allowed to take the tapes without approval first, and left.
When they came back, the tapes were supposedly gone.

He could easily divulge everything. His lawyer gets to see him pretty much whenever needed. He can communicate through his lawyer any "secrets" he wants. Its not that difficult.

He's probably being told by his lawyer not to divulge anything until they get a decent plea bargain.

I think he offered to turn over passports, etc. and he was still denied bail. One reason for being denied bail was flight risk.

But I think prosecutors were saying he wasn't just a flight risk, but an active threat to the community and I think that included potential witnesses and figures in his own case.

There's 115k employees in the justice department. That is a lot.
I'd think they should be doing more cases like this not fewer.

Also, I think the case is more along the lines of people being drugged and sexually assaulted involuntarily (e.g. Bill Cosby type stuff). If it was all about willing participants, they would have never brought charges.

I've mentioned before prosecutors only bring cases against people they are very confident will be convicted of breaking the law (90% effective rate on prosecutions).
