Light beers and many of the bigger beers generally, use a lot of corn and it makes the beer a little sweet. Add to that the fact that Bud Light and similar beers are meant to be drunk ice cold and if you let it sit even a little bit it can get a little funky tasting.
Well I can actually verify A-B production of premium & super premium don't use corn or syrup, Busch / Light does; not sure if the brand extension seltzers do.
Miller & Coors brew w corn syrup as their adjunct grain, Bud uses rice.
Someone mentioned Carlsberg. What a WONDERFUL berr, Spaten as well...yet US distribution of those brands is terrible.
If wholesalers would simply do tastings of those beers, they'd pick up share vs Heineken & Modelo very easily. Corona drinkers are helpless....that's a brand that appeals to idiots and has a horrible taste.
Bud Light a good day drinking light beer, but the best Light is Amstel, and sadly, it's dying off as Heineken Light is taking shelf space- HL is terrible & overly hopped w shitty cascade hops.
