Ranked favorites on the road favored by less than 7 points against unranked teams at home are 32-40-3 against the spread since 2018:

AF and line > -7 and rank<=25 and o:rank=None and season>2018

It sounds like a good take in theory (I like a juicy home dog early in the season especially)

Correct. The number matters here, it has to be worth it.

It can't just be blind and without considering the probabilities and payouts.
