Getting Rid Of The 4th Preseason Game Didn't Help Us At All

Sorry guys I have to vent about this again this year

The NFL still holds a bye week in place of the dismissed 4th preseason game

Pointless _ We still have to wait the same time frame for week 1

All that it really does is take away opportunities for the third and forth tier players to make a roster spot. So I kind of frown on this decision in general for the little guy tryna make it.

Right I understand the 17th game makes up for the one preseason game they rid of

But there was no reason to add that bye week in-between the last preseason game and regular season week 1

It wasn't there before

Week one always opened right after the last preseason game

I disagree except I would only have two preseason games instead of 3 and start the season earlier. Most of these teams and their coaching staffs only need 2 games to evaluate their rosters and prepare for the upcoming season. I don't think preseason is entirely useless as guys are fighting to make rosters and without preseason they wouldn't be able to really "audition" for a spot on the team.
