how many of those 150 had the second best record in their conference?
how many of them were #2 seeds in their conference?
how many had a roster from top to bottom who made the finals the year before?

probably None.

This Boston team has a chance. I’d say Miami is in “must win” territory in games 5 and 6 even though they’re up 3-1 still. If this gets back to Boston for a game 7 the C’s will make NBA history and be the first team to reach the Finals after being down 0-3.

You also have to consider the opponent. The 1996 Sonics were the best team record wise [64-18] to go down 3-0 (they lost in 6). Their opponent..72-10 Bulls. This is why no team in NBA history has a higher likelihood than these Celtics.

how many of the 150 teams who all lost the series after starting 0-3, were the higher seeds and had home court advantage as well as went to the finals the year before?

maybe 10 out of 150?

max 15?

the team that goes 0-2 to start the series is almost always the ROAD Team.

if there was ever a team that can do it, this is the team.

must win for is G6 not G5 imo

they will most likely lose G5 in Boston.

G6 at home on Sat, they MUST close out.

This is all I'll say. If Miami loses G5 tomorrow night in boston, they had better win G6 on sat nite in south beach.

Out of the 150 teams who went down 0-3 never to come back, I'll guess 10-15% were the higher seeded team who started 0-2 at home, so games 5 and 7 are at their crib. Boston is likely one of the most talented teams in history to go down 0-3. Plus, they just made the finals LY. how many of those 150 teams fit this profile ?

They clearly play much better w their backs against the wall (see Sixers gm 6 and 7 and heat g4) so all I can say is that if there was ever a team to come back from 0-3, this here is it.

16s never beat 1s for 35 years in the NCAA tourney then it happened twice in 3 years.

Look out. That's all I'm saying.

I think in some ways Boston plays better on the road than they do at home in the Garden. It sounds crazy but look at game 6 in Philly when they were down 3-2. They responded and got the victory. They've lost multiple games at home in this playoffs for whatever reason so it seems to me to get them to play their best basketball they almost have to have their backs against the wall like they do now.

yes very true. they seem to tighten up in their sphincters at the garden.

strange but true.
