Asking from someone that isn’t in a legalized state, so I have no understanding how state side sportsbook works.

Like what is better, what is worst?

I dont think any of them are for pros or sharps yet. Heard them limit your faster than Betus.

Legalized books have a long ways to go

Offshore better overall but legalized a little easier to move money

Offshore must start offering better bonuses though like they used to in order to keep up in that category and give players an incentive to play with them

Some of the upper tier bonus at the A books probably already at a negative EV for some books. If we look at the books edge at 5% or so.

Bookmakers 20% cash bonus reload 5x rollover.

BOL got 35% FreePlay but 10 or 12x rollover. And you get bonus 5-10% deposit bonus. And if you vip that becomes 100% FreePlay.

Bovada have weekly 50% crypto at 10x rollover. And they usually give out another random reload bonus.

Especially in states where they are just starting up they offer some really good sign up bonuses and often they offer better promotions as well such as boosted bet odds on certain games.

Quite a few differences across the board.

Biggest pro of the US sportsbook is the money and banking transfers. Goes very easy. I’ve literally even deposited more than what was in my bank account (I know - bad, right? I didn’t get the name Reload for nothing lol). Payouts easy also. With offshore, it is mostly limited to crypto now while a few still get credit cards accepted.

Bonus offers in US sports books can be good for new accounts. It tightens up more after that but still occasional promos. They are quick to limit sharper bettors and it’s probably the biggest con compared to offshore shops. It’s mind boggling that sports giants like DraftKings can’t man their lines enough to sweat bigger wagers from all and have limited many players.

In the end it’s always best to have a variety of outs available - both US and offshore. Keeping a lot of accounts funded can be challenging but worth it when line shopping or promo hunting.

The biggest Pro of course is stability! You don't have to wonder as to whether or not your deposit is secure, who exactly has it etc, and when you want to get paid, you don't have to jump through any hoops which we all know comes with the offshore landscape far too often or incur mysterious delays. Also, it's extremely easy to move money around locally compared to offshore. Can you find better bonuses online sure but they often (not always) come with some of the headaches mentioned above.

The cons for some are more than others as to exposure tax wise etc. As to being limited more locally than offshore, I am not sure the gap is all that big for most players but it may be for some.

Now that Louisiana has legalized and sportsbooks are open with apps about to launch would I still play offshore? Probably at least for a little longer but it will be significantly less for sure.

Line shopping is def important but here there are already several options to get funded including BetMGM/Ceasars/Fandeul/Draftkings/ and a couple of others, so using offshore to line shop isn't as necessary.

Does State side books offer credit? That has been the biggest advantage for local bookies where they offer credit for gambling. Like for places like MGM it wouldn't be that much different than their casino operation where you can gamble on credit.

Circa in Las Vegas has let people set up large credit lines for sports betting. That’s the only one I’ve known about. Most other casinos only let credit lines be used for casino gambling.

Some US online sites accept credit cards for deposits but this has varied over the years. A couple of years back it was easy to run up big credit card charges and they would go down as purchases. Now it seems more consider them cash advances and allow less amounts.
