But ….

Can we put our phones down for a coupla hours ????

Wife trotted me out to dinner last night and half the room was on their phones…

Dinner at our home was a loud boisterous experience in most cases…
How’s your day kinda thing…

My Uncle Aldo invited you to Sunday dinner, only two exceptions to cancel…
You were dead.
You were in jail …. And you better not be in jail!

we are missing out on that wonderful opportunity to converse with each other and share experiences…. Food for thought

This is true and a very sad reality that's happening in this generation, Defense.

People at the restaurants stare at their phones instead of staring at each other. Phones make us closer to the people that are not present, however, it also makes us away from the people who are present at the moment.

That seems to be the way society has evolved. People are on their phones 90% of their awake hours. Obviously, the younger you are the more it occurs. Some Gen Z can't imagine what life was like without their cell phone.

Yes once we leave the house to socialize we as humans need to put down the cell phone more & enjoy the moment in real time like @53defense is saying.

I'm sure everyone's heard of the cell phone restaurant game right?

When you are out with a group, everyone puts their phone in the center of the table. First one to take and use their phone during dinner pays the tab. Used to do it with our kids and their friends when we'd take a group out for dinner in college.

Of course, we never made them pay. Our kids or one of their frieds always lost.
