From the talks out here it's sounding more and more that they're going to build it on the site of the Tropicana
Yeah, the first agreement was supposedly "binding" but apparently not as they nixed it and instead of doing a deal witih Red Rock they are planning to do it with Bally's.
Sounds like a bad deal though as the stadium will only hold somewhere in the 30ks range and everything is smaller so there is no plan to build a little entertainment district at the stadium. It's Vegas, so that might not matter as much.
The issue is that the Nevada legislature isn't always in session and they need to get there proposal in front of them and passed. With the new deal it went from a $500 million credit to around $350 million. It's not cash for the 1.5 billion stadium, lol that's not a lot compared to the price, it's actually a tax credit they are trying to get passed, or need to.
The whole situation is a disastar and keeps getting worse. Nevada legislature ends their session next month, I believe.
