Almost a month ago to the day, the Rutgers vs. Iowa over/under of 34 opened so low that it was in contention for lowest total we’ve ever tracked.

Move over Rutgers, Northwestern is the opponent Iowa was seeking.

The total opened at 31.5 at Circa Sports and has been bet all the way up to 35. The previous lowest total was 33, set all the way back in 1995 between Arizona and Oregon State.

Iowa vs. Northwestern Over/Under

This game could close among the seven lowest totals in college football (listed below), with Iowa being listed three times — all in the past two seasons.

There also seems to be a Big Ten theme to the list. Iowa vs. Northwestern could be the eighth total to close at 34 or less and five of the seven totals have come from the Big Ten conference.

Market

Let’s look across the landscape.

At DraftKings and Caesars, the over/under opened up at 35. That is currently in line with the price at Circa, who opened up the line all the way down at 31.5 early Sunday afternoon.

Wow....
But, have you seen Iowa's offense. It is super bad. Hell the defense scored more last week against Ohio St than the offense did. These teams are averaging a combined 32 points per game thru 7 games.

Two lowest scoring teams in the Big10 and its not even close.
Ranked 100 and 101 in offense by SP+. Only 131 teams in NCAAFB.

These teams are bad. The only concern you should have with the total is if the defenses score too much.:ROFLMAO:

Iowa Special teams is amazing. That has a lot to do with it. As long as Iowa doesn't turn the ball over, they will be pinning NW deep needing to drive 80-90 yards.
